What single thing would

improve your photography?

I would love to have more time to

spend on personal projects. I am

not a photographer by profession,

and I have a wife and children,

so I have to use my time wisely.

If you hadn’t become a

photographer, what would

you be doing right now?

Photography is my hobby,

my passion, my life, but

not my profession – I am

a computer scientist.

PROFILE

Arek Soltysik bought his fi rst

DSLR 10 years ago, and

immediately fell in love with

photography. To obtain the

ultimate in image quality, he

mainly uses medium format

equipment. The majority of his

portraits are shot in black &

white, to help the viewer avoid

the inevitable distractions of

colour. Arek has a studio in

Czestochowa, Poland.

What is your dream project?

It’s all in my head at the

moment, and that’s where it

will stay for now. Hopefully one

day I will complete my dream

project, and share it with you.

I hate cooking.

younger self?

Take up photography earlier.
