B+W‘Nomads of India is my latest project and is a culmination of several years’
work recording the passing of a traditional way of life that has served
generations. Tragically, these tribes now find themselves among the most
marginalised people of India. Their nomadic existence stems from the need to
ply their specialised trades across large areas, with an inherent lifestyle that is
now inconsistent with the requirements for addresses and birth certificates, and
all the other paperwork and procedures stipulated by the authorities.’
