French sailor Bruno Troublé
bought the P-Class Chips, still
sailing but with the keelson
rotten through and in three
pieces. It ended up being a
two-year total rebuild, a job
carried out by John
Anderson in Maine, before
Chips went to the Med to
set the cameras whirring.
Bruno was previously
behind the salvation of Jour
de Fête (Q Class), Olympian
(P Class), Oriole (NY30) and

This ocean-going yawl won an award for ‘excellence in yacht restoration’ at
Mystic Seaport last summer. Gannon & Benjamin in Martha’s Vineyard did the
work for new owner Pat Ilderton, including a new deck, doghouse, cabin
trunk and new interior.RAFAELLE

Husband and wife Stephen and Millie Bisset had no
practical experience when they began a major refi t of their
fi rst wooden yacht, but 14 months later the boat was as
good as new and remains largely original.HAVSORNEN
Designed and built by Tore Holm, 1937, LOD 52ft (15.8m),
rig berm sloop
Bought by Phillipe Fabre and restored over a winter by son
Robbie (Vagabundo II) and friends. Work included the
fl oors, hull, rig, engine and much else. Tragically, Phillippe
died just before the re-launch in summer 2017.
