SVEA
Designed by Tore Holm (1937), re-designed by Hoek Design, built by Bloemsma Aluminiumbouw and Vitters, LOD 143ft (43.6m),
rig berm sloop
Drawn by Swedish master Holm but not built until 80 years later, her sleek lines and uncluttered deck give her a menacing look
that speak of her potential as perhaps the fastest J out there, a theory given credence when her new crew won Svea’s fi rst ever
race, at last year’s historic J-Class regatta in Bermuda, and she went on to perform creditably at the J-Class Worlds in Newport.

OUI FLING
Designed and built by Spirit Yachts, LOD 52ft (15.8m), rig berm sloop
Of the nearly 70 yachts built by Spirit, this one is unusual, being as it
is an unapologetic race boat with a stripped-out interior for ultra low
weight. She’s cold-moulded in wood with a modern underbody
boasting a carbon keel blade. Meanwhile her purposeful lines, fl ush
deck and twin cockpits give her the looks to match the performance.

ACADIA
Designed by Hoek, built by Claasen, LOD 90ft (27.5m), rig berm sloop
She is the third Truly Classic 90 in Andre Hoek’s hugely successful
Truly Classic Line, and built in aluminium. She boasts, as do larger
TCs, the wonderful, separated twin-cockpit layout and fi ve cabins
below. Acadia was conceived to be the maximum yacht that can be
sailed with just two permanent crew members and a hands-on owner.
