The antiques section is the largest at the fair, with more than 100 dealers offering
furniture, sculpture , textiles, porcelains, and other works of art from around the
w o r l d , d a t i n g f r o m t h e 1 6 t h t h r o u g h 1 9 t h c e n t u r i e s. tefaf boasts a particular
strength in European pieces from the Renaissance and Baroque periods such as
those tendered by Botticelli Antichità of Florence, which is presenting a late
17th-century marble statue of Hercules and Antaeus, and Carlton Hobbs of New
York, who is offering an early 18th-century Italian gilt- bronze folding stool.

in photography,” says Ben Frija of Oslo-based
Galleri K, which is promoting works by
artists associated with the Becher school of
photography: Andreas Gursky, Candida
H ö f e r , A x e l H ü t t e , T h o m a s R u f f , a n d T h o m a s
Struth. Since debuting it in 2010, tefaf has
continued to expand its Paper section, which
includes not only photography but limited
edition prints, ranging from Old Masters
to contemporary works; antiquarian books;
and Asian calligraphy works. This edition, a
special exhibition titled “Collecting Collectors”
showcases prints and drawings from Museum
Boijmans Van Beuningen, Rotterdam.
