2/27-2/28/16, Egi Antonaccio, Abstract or Classic
Painting from Photography. All Skill Levels. Using
acrylics and various techniques, Italian artist, Egi

Antonaccio, teaches all levels how to create a
realistic or abstract rendering from photographs
and pictures. Learn to divide the light using
strokes of color with palette knives and brushes
with Egi, whose loose strokes create wonderful
detail. Participants will experience color mixing as
they work from photographs to loosen their style
and develop a new technique to enhance their
skills. Individual attention in any subject matter
will be offered in this workshop to bring your best
creativity to canvas. His approach to realism or
abstraction brings a canvas to life with refl ections
of light and offers students an incredible learning
experience. Painting with a palette knife and
painting quickly is more suitable for acrylics. The
experienced artist may use oils but don’t expect
to complete a painting as you would with acrylic.
Egi will open the fi rst day with a demo.

4/4-4/8/16, Kami Mendlik, Capturing Light And
Color En Plein Air. Intermediate to Advanced.
Oil. The fi rst two days we will be working on
designing and composing a landscape painting,
by painting many small studies, “starts” in value
and color. The initial decision of what needs to
be in a painting and what doesn’t need to be
in the painting can strengthen your work right
from the start! Kami will be teaching you how
to best structure the landscape by learning how
to simplify the important shapes to create the
strongest carrying power in the piece. Day three
will be focusing on properties of COLOR - hue,
value, temperature, and saturation by working
from a limited palette of a warm and cool of each

primary. You will learn a step-by-step approach
to seeing and mixing the relative color of the light
which is the key to creating harmony in your work.

Long Pose Figure Drawing. Beginning drawing
fundamentals to Advanced. This workshop
has been created for students of life drawing
who are motivated to heighten their structural
abilities as they strive to better see the human
fi gure. Students will, at fi rst, be guided through a
platform of learning as fundamental principles of
drawing from direct observation are addressed.
Using the same pose, the workshop will then
lead participants through an array of structural
disciplines, demonstrating drawing techniques
that can translate observed phenomena into
comprehensive surfaces, informed by anatomical
clues. As the drawings are pushed, nuances will
arise from comprehending the tactile nature
of organic human form. The overall exercise
