Plein Air Demo. Tuscany 2015

technique as he tackles the plein air landscape.
He will show students how to transform fi eld
sketches into successful studio paintings.
6/7-6/9/16, Carol Maguire, Oil, Learn what it takes
to make a painting that looks fresh and painterly.
Observing directly from life you will learn how to
capture the light and apply paint boldly.
6/10-6/12/16, Sergio Roffo, Students will enjoy
Sergio’s approach to painting as they learn the
importance of good draftsmanship and color
accuracy to produce beautiful painting en plein
air.
6/13-6/16/16, Nancy Tankersley, While keeping
it fresh in plein air, Nancy will guide students,
through direct observation on location to clean
light fi lled painting.
6/20-6/23/16, Kim English, Students will
learn how to keep their approach fresh and
spontaneous yet controlled and accurate while
painting several studies of the model working fast,
immediate and loose.
6/25-6/28/16, Ted Nuttall, Watercolor. Using
the photographic reference Ted will simplify the
portrait process as he guides his students to
produce successful likenesses of people.
9/6-9/9/16, Bill Farnsworth, With two days in the
fi eld and two in the studio students will learn
how to problem solve to yield beautiful, light fi lled
paintings.
9/12-9/15/16, Daniel Keys, During this intensive
course, the students will receive insight into
learning to see correctly and develop adeptness
in the following areas: composition, drawing,
color, value and edges. Demonstrations and
individualized instruction are at the core of every
day.
9/17-9/18/16, William Davis, Oil, Serenity
and Solitude will be the focus of this two day
workshop. Paint plein air with William Davis and
capture the changing season. Students will learn
to paint the fall marsh with emphasis on the still
water, light and refl ection.
9/21-9/23/16, Mary Whyte, Once again Mary
Whyte will instruct her students in fundamental
and advanced approaches to watercolor painting.


Demonstrating each day for her class, Mary will
teach color mixing, edges, good composition and
capturing light on the fi gure.
9/27-9/30/16, Joe Paquet, Paquet will focus on
the prismatic palette and explain his methods for
good composition and color use. Students will
enjoy painting, en plein air on location, around
beautiful picturesque Chatham.
