CREATE A
SNOWSTORM
On a new layer, make a
rectangular selection, ill
it with black, then go to
Filter>Noise, set Amount
to 400, Gaussian and
Monochromatic. Press
Cmd/Ctrl+L and drag the
black point to darken it.
Change the blend mode
to Screen, move the
rectangle over the bulb
and mask the edges.

REVEAL THE
SNOW
Add a layer mask and
paint black to hide the
relections. On the
tree layer, press Cmd/
Ctrl+J, change the blend
mode to Normal, click
the mask, go to Edit>Fill
and choose Contents:
Black. Zoom in, grab the
Brush Tool and paint
with white to reveal the
snow on the branches.

OVERLAY THE
REFLECTIONS
Hide the tree layer and
select the bottom layer.
Open the Channels
panel and Cmd/ Ctrl-
click the RGB channel
to load the lightest
parts of the image as
a selection. Press Cmd/
Ctrl+J to copy to a new
layer, then drag the
layer to the top and set
Opacity to about 50%.
