THE ‘STEP AND REPEAT’ TRICK
There’s a speedy shortcut that lets you repeat a
transformation and duplicate a layer all at once...

TRANSFORM A COPY
First press Cmd/Ctrl+J to copy your
original layer, then press Cmd/Ctrl+T. Use the
bounding box to transform the layer in any
way you like. Here we’ve shrunk it slightly
and moved it to the left to start a row of
robots. Press Enter to apply.

STEP AND REPEAT
Now you’re ready to execute the
magic keyboard shortcut. Press Cmd/
Ctrl+Shift+Alt+T to ‘step and repeat’.
This’ll duplicate the layer and repeat the
same transform. Use the same shortcut
