eagate Technology plc (NASDAQ:
STX) presented the �irst 8TB
surveillance hard disk drive at the
China Public Security Expo (CPSE) 2015
in Shenzhen.

“With HD recordings now standard
for surveillance applications, Seagate’s
Surveillance HDD product line has been
designed to support these extreme
workloads with ease and is capable of a
180TB/year workload, three times that of
a standard desktop drive. It also includes
surveillance-optimized �irmware to
support up to 64 cameras and is the only
product in the industry that can support
surveillance solutions, from single-bay
DVRs to large multi-bay NVR systems.”
said Matt Rutledge, Seagate’s Senior Vice
President, Client Storage.

This 3.5 inch drive has the capacity to
store about 800 hours of high-de�inition
content captured by up to 64 cameras
simultaneously. It also features rotational
vibration sensors enabling it to perform
in systems with eight or more drives. The
usage of this device is ideal in businesses
like casino and manufacturing plants,
which require bulk storage for HD
content and video analytics.

will market a new 1.4x tele-converter
for their X-mount lenses. The
converter will extend the focal length
of the lens by 1.4x. The converter
is constructed with 7 elements in 3
groups and features an anti-dust and

expected street price is 54,500 yen.

cameras.
