Moments in the Wild
Ajay Tharavath is an
entrepreneur based out of
Kolkata. His tyrst with wildlife
photography began when he
started visiting Tiger reserves
15 years ago. He would observe
wildlife and their behavioural
traits. It was only about ive years
ago that he purchased his irst
D-SLR camera and a basic zoom
lens. Since then his interest continued to grow and wildlife
photography became a passion. Interaction with different
wildlife photographers and pbserving their work helped him
hone his skills.
He strongly believes that wildlife is one of the toughest genres
of photography as the subject is never in the photographer’s
control. Good subject knowledge helps in predicting animal
behaviour, anticipating an action, visualizing a frame and
releasing the shutter at the right moment.
