Choosing the right gear while travelling
always makes sense. I carried a Canon
EOS 5D Mark III body along with the
following lenses: Canon 85mm f/1.8,
Canon 24-70mm f/4 L, Tokina 16-
28mm f/2.8 and 10-17mm fisheye.

I did not carry my 70-200mm f/2.8
because of its weight. I also wanted
more of wide-angle shots. On the first
day, I went to Trimbakeshwar where I
met some other photographers and the
talk was mostly around shooting ‘nanga
babas’ at the time of ‘Shahi Snan’. The

idea did not impress me at all. So I
started walking in the narrow lanes
of Trimbakeshwar to take pictures
of the surroundings from different
perspectives. It started raining heavily
and this made it really difficult to get

good shots. So the next day I returned
to Nashik and tried to re-take the
shots that I had missed. I also used
a fisheye lens to create some great
effects, and at the same time, I also
used a Neutral Density filter for long
exposures. |SP
