hen he was hired by PepsiCo to
optimise the popular soft drink’s
recipe, Howard Moskowitz
famously said “there is no
perfect Pepsi, only perfect Pepsis”. By
this, he meant: you can’t expect that one
product will cater to every customer.
Everyone has varying tastes; it all comes
down to personal preference. It’s no
different with digital editing hardware: one
artist will swear by the Wacom Intuos Manga,
while other artists will balk at the very thought of
using one. When an artist argues why their
chosen tablet is their favourite, they might say the
pen pressure is just right, or that they need the
convenient ExpressKeys, or they appreciate the
tablet’s portability, and so on. They might even
argue that they’re so comfortable with their tablet
that they don’t see the point of getting a Cintiq.
