to the Seniors. Many of the teachers were visual
Artists (in their own right). So without doubt, it
was the junior Art School that was and to some
extent still is, the biggest influence [in my life]
and my work.


Can you tell us about the “work behind the
artist”? ( Marketing your art, Communication
with Galleries and all the business side of
being an artist?
For many artists, it really is a case of survival for
others it is far easier. Who you know, helps, but
failing that, one has to keep working and show


the work when and how one can. Persistence and
belief in your own work is everything. Good Art
will always be sought after, on the high street or
on the web. Even if that does mean that it will
be valued eventually - rather than immediately,
it can take many years for ones work to be fully
understood.

What has been a seminal experience?
Honestly, I have had a few of them. Driving off
a cliff (in Greece) and surviving certain death
was one. That changed my belief system for
a start (1990). Playing an important role in a
