Still,withtheMambaTEthere’s
somethinga littledifferentgoing
on...andit’s theinclusionofthe
world’s mostsensitivemouse
sensor. Asensorwhich,
developedinpartnershipwith
Philips,deliversupto16,000dpi
sensitivity. That’s notonlya little
justificationofprice,it’s an
extraordinaryachievementtoo–
onewhich,if you’re into
braggingrights,shouldmakethe
MambaTEevenmore desirable.
Sucha highmaximumDPIis a
headlinegrabberandperhaps
usablebypro-gamerssuitedto
highersensitivitysettings,butis
there a more real-worldbenefit?
Razerarguesyes,with
heightenedDPIbeingusefulin
multipledisplaysetups.It’s a fair
comment,althoughperhapsnot
themostpersuasive.
Yet sensitivityisn’t onlytobe
measuredinmaximums.
ThroughRazer’s Synapse
software tool,userscanfully
customisetheMambaTE’s DPI
settingsandintervals.Witha

Tool,andRazerboasts16.8
millioncolouroptions.It’s an
impressivelightshow, andone
which– thankfully– canbe
turnedoff whenthecomputer
goestosleep!
Inthemiddleofallofthis,the
questionremainsofhowthe
mouseis toactuallyuseona day-
to-daybasis.Well,assomeone
who’s solelyusedit forseveral
days,I’dsayit’s a pretty
impressiveshowing.Razer
suggeststhere’s anergonomic
formfactoratworkfor‘complete
comfort’.Andit is comfortable,
butanyonewitha largerhandor
preferringa palmgripwilllikely
findtherespectivelackofheight
andlackofpalmelevationnot

quitetotheirrequirements.You
mayalsofindthatyourlittle
finger, lackinganyconsideration,
is theonethingpreventingthe
freedomofmovementgivenby
themouse’s undersideTe flon
glidepads.
Theseconsiderationsinmind,
theMambaTournamentEdition
is otherwisecomfortableand
performswell.Itsconstructionis
uptostandard,andthe
designersare clearlyateasewith
matter-of-factdesignchoices
somefailtoconsider. Rubber
gripsalongthesidesofthe
mousebodyprovidea good
hold,andtheside-buttonsare
perfectlypositionedforeasy
thumb-reach.Thepimpledroll-
wheelis wellweightedandeasily
controlled,andtheDPI
adjustmentsbuttonsare quickly
actionedwithouteverbeingat
riskofbeingpressedinerror.
