an entrancing kaleidoscopic installation on-site

while in residence at FAC. To create the title-work

‘Manoeuvres’, commissioned by FAC and the Mark

Howlett Foundation, Baumann repurposed and

programmed a series of outdated lip dot boards

choreographing them to display an ever-changing

array of shapes and patterns.

Like Baumann, many artists from FAC’s Artist

in Residence program have gone on to exhibit

at the Arts Centre and form collaborations with

other artists in residence. With 11 studios and a

residential apartment on ofer, the program attracts

local, national and international artists who are

experimenting and developing their practice.

Artists are also able to engage with the Asialink

Arts Residency, an innovative reciprocal residency

exchange program with the Taipei Culture

Foundation, Taiwan, designed to promote cross-

cultural dialogue.

In February 2016, FAC presents ‘Black Sun’, the

irst WA solo exhibition for internationally renowned
