artist Dani Marti (NSW/ESP), in partnership with
PIAF. This seductive and confronting show sees Marti
relect upon intimate encounters with family, lovers
and strangers to create works that are startling in
their vulnerability and revealing in their sensuality.
In addition to presenting new works, FAC hosts
the City of Fremantle Art Collection Gallery. The
Collection is the largest municipal art collection in
WA, housing more than 1,300 pieces, including
historical works and an extraordinary mix of
contemporary paintings, prints, photographs and

ceramics by Western Australian artists. The winning
work of the FAC Print Award is acquired by the
City of Fremantle annually, and its acquisition over
a period of more than 40 years has enabled the
Collection to develop an expansive holding of
Australian prints and artists’ books that relect the
diversity, complexity and scale of print nationally.
FAC also hosts an extensive Learning program
with more than 1,000 students enrolling each
term. Tailored to kids and adults, courses range
from weekend workshops to mid-week night
classes, along with a kids holiday program, covering
printmaking, drawing, painting, ceramics, metal
work, jewellery, textiles, creative writing, loristry and
photography. All courses are taught by experienced
tutors and practicing artists.
In recent years, FAC has become a premier venue
for Australian and international musicians. A diverse
range of acts play year-round, with free concerts
from local and national acts in the summer’s Sunday
Music series to touring acts on the South Lawn
such as Nick Cave, Ms Lauryn Hill, Chet Faker, Paul
Kelly, Elvis Costello and RÜFÜS. FAC also curates
an intimate selection of concerts including Sonic
