Step Five
I then placed the shadow wash of Viridian around
the vines and some calligraphy in the houses. This
wasthenallowedtodry.

Step Six
I added a variety of colours and darks in the vines.
Also added the shadows under the vines. My
palette of colours used for this painting were Yellow
Ochre, Cadmium Red, Ultramarine Blue, Burnt
Sienna, and Viridian.

Final Step
I step back and study the painting. I make sure
the composition is in place, that the darks
come together and the painting is cohesive and
balanced. I need to see if there is anything else
the painting required, and I am satisied that it is
inished.
When using clips to hold the painting on a board,
it does tend to buckle. To make sure the painting
islat and ready for framing, I thoroughly wet the
back, towel it of, lay the painting face up and allow
it to dry on a clean, lat surface.
