TUG UNDERGOES

EMERGENCY REPAIRS
Harrap Marine Industries
has released details about
emergency repairs it
undertook on the tug SL
Kullaroo earlier this year.
The 30.25m harbour
tug was damaged in
an incident in which it
collided with another
tug while operating
in Gladstone in June.
Following on from that SL
Kullaroo steamed down
to be lifted from the water
at The Yard Brisbane to
undergo works by Harrap
Marine Industries.

Repair works
included removal and
reinstatement of winches
and mast; major hull
repair to the aff ected
areas including blasting
and painting; and internal
repairs to aff ected cabins,
scantling, bulkheads,
piping, linings and
lagging. Owner SMIT
Marine Australia took the
opportunity to complete
scheduled docking tasks
which were conducted
throughout the same time
frame as the repair.
