ECONOMY
Best economy was achieved
at low revs once we were
on plane, with a range of
271nm from the 580lt tanks
with 10% reserve. A 4000rpm
cruise in the over 3000kg
vessel still gave reasonable
consumption of 72Lt/h
combined and a range of
202nm. At wide open throttle
fuel burn jumps to an eye-
watering figure over 200Lt/h,
by when, at 52kts, your eyes
are already watering anyway.
CONTROLS
Mercury’s digital shift and
throttle are as good as any,
and the Flo-Torq soft shift
rubber in the propeller hub
produce effortless and silent
gear selection. SmartCraft
engine diagnostics were
directed to a 16in Simrad
screen, so any information
needed was easily visible.
THE WRAP
Matching a pair of 350hp to
a high-performance RIB like
the Eagle 10 makes perfect
sense. They deliver instant
power and impressive
speed in a hull that inspires
confidence. As boats
increase in size, the need
for more power grows, and
the Verado 350 meets that
demand.
“Rather than merely
remap the computer to
achieve better grunt on
the 350, the engineers have
modified the induction,
minimised friction and
controlled temperatures”
