“Full Color Me” (Right)
LISA THORPE • HEALDSBURG, CALIFORNIA
“Th is quilt was created using four selfi es that were
manipulated in Photoshop and printed on Jacquard®
ExtravOrganza. Each organza block was laid over a
pattern fabric of corresponding color and then stitched
with free-motion and straight stitching in black to
highlight and frame.”

“a la Mucha II”
JUDITH AHLBORN • LITTLETON, COLORADO
“Czech artist Alphonse Mucha’s Art Nouveau portraits
of women with beautiful fl owing hair surrounded by
luscious fl owers were the inspiration for this portrait of
my daughter. Using one of my favorite photos of her, I
did the complete design work in Photoshop Elements,
transforming her hair, giving her a new shirt, and creating
the fl oral and patterned background. I printed this
wholecloth piece to fabric and free-motion stitched the
design lines and background patterns.”
