Trade-A-Boat — February 2018

(Amelia) #1
The third episode of AGB moved interstate, this
time south to Victoria’s Queenscliff. Known for
rough water when Port Phillip Bay’s infamous
Rip is draining, plus occasional nasty weather,
Victoria was the perfect place to put some
hardcore fi shing boats to the judges’ swords.
Three days of testing pushed the judges
to their limits, but local hospitality from the
local legends at MY Marine helped keep spirits
high after hours. One of the most memorable

AGBs for all the right reasons, 2012 was highly
competitive with previous winners facing off
against new faces, all with an eye on the prize.
Editor Jeff Strang had this to say of the sublime
Cruisecraft: “I knew from the moment I stood on
it that I was going to love it.”
Regarding the Bar Crusher, AGB veteran Kevin
Smith couldn’t get past the ride saying: “When
you drive it, you drive it hard, fast, deep and
long.” Hmm, South Africans, eh?

2012

Back to the winner’s circle for Bar Crusher,
this time with its 670 Hard Top. DNA from
2010’s winner, the 780 HT, trickled down to
this slightly smaller rig, helping it ‘Wow’ its
way to the top with a scarcely believable
four judges giving it 10/10 for X-Factor.
