OLAS MOB alert

This clever little MOB tracker is attached to crewmem-

bers via a watch strap, and sounds an alarm when it’s

over a certain distance away from the phone it’s con-

nected to. Once alerted, crew on deck can then locate

an individual up to 100 metres away via location arrows

on the phone’s screen. Most of us now own a smart

phone and keep it with us most of the time, so it’s

‘smart’ to have the tracker connected to the phone as

we’re far more likely to hear the alarm, if and when it sounds.
