Square plastic drainpipe makes
cheap winch-handle holders.
The lower fi xing needs a
hole for screwdriver
access.

Fence off the front of the
cockpit (A) to tuck washboards
away. There might even be space
(B) for winch handles.

Another home for washboards
is under the cockpit locker lids
(C) or tucked into a bracket (D)
just inside the locker front.

Emergency equipment (E) can also
be stored under a lid. Everyone
knows where it is, and it uses the
dead space at the top of the locker.
Sliding plastic containers (F) or
drawer dividers (G) can also be
fi tted to hold smaller items.

Coaming lockers can be made out of a plastic planter (H) or by simply boxing in the gap and making
a fancy wooden front (I). Make sure the base slopes (J) to drain, or things can get very soggy. Lids
keep out spray, or you can buy purpose-built waterproof lockers. They can be oblong (K) or round
with a bag (L) to fi t into awkward places.
