Monitor maker AOC has just launched its
new G2 line-up of gaming monitors, all with
1080p IPS panels. The 27G2U and 27G2U
both have a 27in diagonal, while the 24G2U
and 24G2U5 have a 23.8in diagonal. All the
monitors support AMD FreeSync, and have
a quoted 1ms MPRT response time. The
27G2U and the 24G2U are the more speed-
focused models of the group. They offer
a refresh rate of 144Hz, while the cheaper
27G2U5 and 24G2U5 only run at 75Hz.
Connection options are the same across
all models, with two HDMI inputs, along

with a DisplayPort input
and a VGA connection.
They also all include 2W
built-in speakers, and a
four-port USB hub for
keyboards. The big news,
however, is the price. The recommended
retail prices for the monitors start at just
£149 inc VAT for the 24G2U5, with the other
models priced at £179 for the 24G2U, £
for the 27G2U5 and £229 for
the 27G2U (all prices inc VAT).
