A 164ft steel modern-day gulet,
launched at Neta Marine in Bodrum,
Turkey, begins a new life asMeira.
Evan K Marshall, whose team worked
on the original concept’s exterior
styling, was invited back when a new
owner purchased the stalled motor
sailer project with a fresh vision. The
designer worked closely with Salmakis
Yachting to instill new life in the original
concept. Imbued with the classic flavor
of her predecessor,Meirafeatures a
new superstructure and an elegant
interior designed to appeal to
international charter clients.
“What had been previously
envisioned as an enclosed sky lounge
was changed to an open-air, covered

area,” Marshall says. The redesign also

carved out space for a spa with sauna

and high bulwarks to conceal wave

runners and tenders stowed on the

foredeck. The voluminous yacht has

six comfortable cabins for 12 guests,

including a large master suite on the

main deck, space for 11 crew and plenty

of partially shaded outdoor spaces that

can accommodate larger groups for
