MW MARINE

BUSINESS EXPANSION

Palm Beach Motor Yachts
will build on the success

of its popular 65ft model
with the introduction of a

70-footer later this year.
Construction is underway

on the company’s new
flagship Palm Beach 70.

The new 70 will ofer
greater volume in the

amidships master

stateroom and spacious
crew accommodations,
in response to customer
requests.
Like its stablemates, the
Palm Beach 70 is built on a
semi-displacement warped-
hull design that produces low
resistance to achieve planing
speeds, while keeping the
bow down.

Palm Beach CEO Mark
Richards tells us this design
also afords a shallow draft
and additional buoyancy
aft – just 1.06m of draft with
with Volvo IPS 1350s, or 1.4m
with straight shafts.
The vessel is estimated to
cruise at 33kts when paired
with the standard twin Volvo
IPS 1350 engines, with a top

speed of 38kts.
ThePalm Beach 70is
available as either an express
model or with an optional
flybridge.
Both models allow for
customisation of the interior
layout, with one of the
first hulls featuring four
staterooms and four heads.

MW Marine will open a Port
Stephens office on the NSW
mid-north coast this year
and has also announced a
new ownership structure
with staff member Matt
Millington taking up a share
in the business.
“After working with
MW Marine for a time,
an opportunity arose to
become a stakeholder in the
business,” said Millington.
Founder Matthew
Willet said Millington
displayed enthusiasm
and commitment that sat
well with the ethos of the
dealership.
“The time is right for the
business to develop further
and we are in an excellent
position to build on our
success in the market,” he
said
As the Jeanneau outboard
dealer for NSW and QLD,
MW Marine has sold 35
units over the past year and
also represents local brand
Maritimo in NSW.
