Jeanneau Rendezvous

LAST April saw over 40 yachts
participate in the 2018 NSW
Jeanneau Rendezvous with
crews sailing from up and down
the east coast to participate.
The annual event, organised
and hosted by local dealer
Performance Boating Sales
(PBS), is one of the most
popular events on the Jeanneau
calendar, which includes the
Jeanneau racing division at Sail
Port Stephens for the Jeanneau
Cup, plus the class regatta for
the Sun Odyssey 349.
Sydney Harbour provided
a day of sunshine and an
average ten knots of wind. The
Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron
provided the central location
for the morning briefing with
Lee Condell.

Four divisions were needed
this year including a separate
division for the Sun Odyssey
349 as eleven of the twenty plus
examples in NSW were sailing.
Setting off from Athol Bay
with a backdrop of Taronga
Zoo, all yachts were sent on
their way by the committee
boat, the new Sun Odyssey 440.
The wind increased slightly
to make the sailing easier
against the tide to finish near
Clarke Island.
The evening function
was held at the Blackbird
Restaurant in Darling Harbour
with the 40 yachts booking out
the entire marina for the night.
Over 165 sailors enjoyed the
dinner and awards presentation.
Accountability won the

spinnaker division followed
by Imagine and Allegria.
Non-spinnaker was won by
Sea Pearl, Midnight’s Promise
and Struggling Salesman. The
Sun Odyssey 349 division was
won by Pinta Bay, then Nkosi
and Upbeat.
