YACHT INVESTOR
“Our dream was never to build just another 14m
motor yacht and copy what already exists – our
ARROW460-Granturismo copies nothing,” said Silver
Arrow Marine Global Marketing and Communications
Director Paolo Bonaveri. “Our dream was always to
do what we, as yacht owners and professionals, knew
to be right in our hearts. That is why the yacht has
so many innovations, and why it is such a large step
forward. It may be a small yacht but it is conceived
and designed like a superyacht.”
Allow me another, quote that has been with us
for some time: “The first quality of style is clarity”.
This reflects the way we acted because we made it
immediately clear what our intentions were. Style,
functionality and luxury were the common threads
for a product capable of generating new ideas and
pushing the market towards new boundaries.

You have often talked about the team, the network
and a new business vision.
It is obvious that the automotive industry approach
has had an influence and has guided us in our choices.
The team is essential to build a strong base. The
team is made up of a few people, but this does not
mean “small”.
The management of the network is done by our
Head of Engineering who is the link in this network.
It takes both a thorough personal knowledge of each
key person and a strong personal effort. Only in this
way can you create a unique product with unique
partners. This is yet another lesson learnt from the
automotive experience.
I then shared my personal vision with Ron and
Paolo and applied it to the development of the
sales channels. My objective was to highlight all
of our qualities in a way that would bring us much
closer into contact with the customer than has
done so far. I would also like to underline the way
our communication is to the point, transparent and
efficient in order to support a new language for both
the yachting and automotive industries.
Lastly, I would like to underline our innovative way
we market and sell our boats. It is a different and
avant-garde method to approach the matter. Today
we can announce our first agreement of “introducer”
with the Zung Fu Group, exclusive Mercedes-Benz
dealer in Hong-Kong and Macao

You are using, Mercedes-Benz dealer in Hong
Kong. Does it mean that you will sell the boats in
dealerships?

No, absolutely not. It means that by using the
concept of transportation of the three-pointed star,
some selected Mercedes-Benz dealers, of which this
agreement with Hong Kong is the first, will have the
advantage of the exclusivity of being able to have a
unique product, designed in collaboration with their
style centre to develop together communications and
lifestyle activities. An “Introducer Agreement” has
been signed so that we can start to work together
and like no other luxury brand can do, bring its strong
DNA from the road to the sea and vice versa.
However, this does not mean that we are

abandoning the more traditional nautical approach
to the sale of yachts, with the participation at boat
shows, dedicated events and working with some
important players in the world of high-end brokerage.
Indeed, all of this is integrated into our sales concept
for a one -to-one approach, with our activities defined
by what we call the “Granturismo Experience”.

So tell us, what is the Granturismo Experience?
The Granturismo Experience, and I underline
Granturismo, is our way of presenting the boat.
For us it is fundamental that the customer lives the
Granturismo experience on-board. We customise the
Granturismo according to the client’s requests, taking
into consideration their way of living on the boat, to
his overall lifestyle. The Arrow460-Granturismo is the
boat that knows how to interpret, in our opinion, an

independent and new lifestyle. It is able to give them
a better experience from their own point of view and
not by imposing our “style”.

In conclusion I would like to go back to the
product, to this concept of Granturismo, which we
instinctively translated into GT, but you immediately
stopped us, asking us to talk about Granturismo.
So, ours is a rather complex question, because it is
also the result of the knowledge of the product that
we have been able to appreciate in recent months
and includes questions and anecdotes heard during
the presentations at the Dubai and Singapore Boat
Shows.
Yes Granturismo and not “GT”, because in the word
Granturismo we find not only sportiness, but also
and above all, class, elegance, refinement, precious
materials, innovative interior design solutions and
balanced performances. In short a new market niche.
When Gorden Wagener (Chief Designer Officer
Daimler AG) described the Arrow460-Granturismo as
“the S-Class of the seas” he was not referring only to
style, but to its formal language. It is created starting
with a new hull, and reflects that concept of comfort,
safety, driving pleasure or better steering, as well
as ergonomics and innovative solutions, that have
always characterized the new luxury products of the
three-pointed star.
For this reason you will see the Arrow460-
Granturismo flanked by the Mercedes-Benz S-Coupé.
The critics and the public have confirmed that Silver
Arrows Marine has created a new language, a new
style, a new concept. I will mention again the difficulty
of being pioneers, but we want to bring to us an
audience able to enjoy and understand this language.
And to do this we are further developing our
products and adapting our concept of company.
We will increasingly act as a “boutique” to create
those products that are the result of an experience
that comes from the market, and the traditions and
technologies of two worlds. Two worlds that have
come together as no one has been able to do before,
but Silver Arrows Marine and Mercedes-Benz have
proved that with a lot of work and dedication this can
be done.
So, before the summer we will announce two new
evolutions and in September, during the Monaco
Yacht Show, we will unveil the design concept of
these two versions and then hopefully we will have a
further announcement by the end of the year.
