YACHT INVESTOR

77°

This futuristic looking superyacht is a 65m full
aluminium is coming from the drawing board
of designer George Lucian.
The concept has full electric running
capabilities, supported by two diesel electric
engines and large electric panels that cover
the numerous horizontal surfaces of the
superstructure of the vessel.
Its shape borrows elements from the military
stealth vessels, aircrafts and spacecrafts, and,
together with the full electric capabilities,
reflective hull surface, patterns, and sharp
angles, make the yacht have a very discrete

radar footprint.
Unlike its radar footprint, its presence in
any harbour will for sure be anything else
but discrete.
On the bow side of the main deck is the
main living area with a large outdoor covered
living area, including a beam length swimming
pool, a lounge and a dining area. This area is
connected to the main salon and the stern
deck with large glass doors and walls, giving
the sensation of a huge open loft like space.
The bridge deck is located on the upper
deck, together with a helicopter platform, and
a sky lounge.
The yacht can welcome onboard 12 guests
together with 12 crew members.

This dark and mysterious rendering is that
of Project Phi, a radical fast displacement
motor yacht of over 55m. The project is
a result of many hours of conversation
between the Dutch design firm Cor D.
Rover for her exterior, London-based
interior designers Lawson Robb, and the
experts at Van Oossanen Naval Architects.
The owner’s current captain, Yacht Consult
and Arcon Yachts were also instrumental
in the development of Project Phi.
Project Phi he will accommodate

12 guests and a crew of 11. The Fast
Displacement XL hull by Van Oossanen
has been optimised for a maximum
speed of approximately 22 knots, is gyro-
stabilised. Project Phi will remain under the
500 GT mark. Relating to ”Sectio divina” or
the Golden Ratio, Phi is the formula that
governs continuation of dimensions and
shapes in natural proportions throughout
the design. A matter of utmost importance
to the Owner was for the interior design
to seamlessly embrace and continue the
principles of the progressive design of Phi.
Project Phi is scheduled for delivery
in 2021.

SHERPA XL is a 23.8m yacht by Arcadia Yachts. Its engineering is now almost
complete and the on spec construction of the first unit has already begun - ready for
its international debut at the 2019 Cannes Yachting Festival. With a beam wider than
6.9m, this yacht offers an incredible 220 square metres of interior and exterior living space - 25% more than other yachts
in the same class. Designed by Hot Lab design studio, with the aim of preserving the characteristic Aracdia DNA.
The narrow bulwarks surrounding the entire cockpit have openings that allow guests to enjoy the view and the
closeness of the sea. The entire area is made even more comfortable by the lack of any visible handling equipment for
launching the tender, which is stored just forward of the engine room and is launched through a side hatch, without
bothering guests.

Powered by twin Volvo Penta IPS 1050
main engines, the yacht can reach a top speed
of approximately 22 knots. Preliminary studies
also estimate that at a long range speed of 10-
12 knots, the semi-displacement hull will be
more than 30-35% more efficient than other
yachts in its class. It has great autonomy - at
12 knots, SHERPA XL can sail for over 1,000
miles, which rise to over 1,500 if the speed is
kept at 10 knots.
