Above left: This track indicates that the satellite tag attached to a 75kg black marlin was swallowed
five days after the fish was tagged and released. Note the change in diving behaviour (blue trace in top plot) associated with less
temperature variation (green trace). This indicates that the predator was most likely a species of lamnid shark, such as a white or mako.
Above right: The change in light levels recorded by the tag attached to the 75kg black marlin also indicate that
it was swallowed by a predator on the fifth day of the track.
