one scratch means a vast
area needs to be repainted
- a patch stands out on a
smooth surface. Aviva’s
facets, however, made her
metallic silver, grey and
black superstructure a
practical option: the area
is divided into a series of
smaller planes, which can
be repainted individually.
The two superstructure
shades are complemented
by bright aluminium
elements, while the hull
is in Alexseal’s Stars and
Stripes Blue. “The funny
thing is that with the
metallic superstructure,
people think the hull
is metallic as well and
it isn’t, it’s a plain
blue,” says designer
Toby Silverton
