CELEBRATING THE PERFECT PAIRING – THE CONRAD FORT LAUDERDALE
BEACH RESORT AND THE AZIMUT 72 FLYBRIDGE...
Sometimes it feels right to down tools, cast off the stresses of a
demanding work life and escape from it all. The new Conrad Fort
Lauderdale Beach resort on the North Beach prides itself on ofering
the opportunity to take care of business one minute and get away from
it all the next. It occupies a unique position, right on the waterfront,
where the Atlantic Ocean and wide-open vistas of beautiful blue meet
the busy bustle of the modern South Florida city. The hotel is a classy
upgrade on any oice, with the ability to host meetings in one of its 10
dedicated business spaces, or stage a function for up to 500 people,
taking advantage of the stunning rooftop terrace overlooking the ocean.
Executive chef Jorge Ramos and his team are key players in helping
shift the balance from work to pleasure. From the Cornucopia
Gourmet Market down on street level – serving juices, espressos, pizzas
and pastries – to the Terra Mare restaurant, offering al fresco,
Mediterranean-inspired dining with an emphasis on plate-sharing and
table side preparation, the food options are plentiful.
Chintan Dadhich, general manager at the Conrad Fort Lauderdale
Beach, sums up the resort’s approach. “Our vision is to ofer guests
intuitive service and authentic interactions,” he says. “To continue to
create unmatched programming and authentic culinary experiences,
we have collaborated with locals to deliver oferings that truly reflect
South Florida’s culture.”
It does this through specially curated experiences, lasting one, three
or five hours, that give guests a taste of local life and what it has to ofer.
After a stay in one of the hotel’s 290 suites, all with a beach-living feel
and porthole windows to connect to the ocean, you will be throwing
of the suit and slipping into your weekend finest.
And what better way to take a step further and fully disconnect than
by taking to the sea? If the Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach has put you
in the mood for cool, modern style, an Azimut 72 Flybridge moored at
the nearby Las Olas Marina will give you its ocean-going equivalent.
The 22.64 metre flybridge cruiser, styled by Azimut’s long-time
collaborator Stefano Righini with an interior designed by Carlo
Galeazzi, oozes Italian sophistication, while cutting a dashing profile.
Its use of fibreglass for the sporty hull, and carbon fibre for the
superstructure and flybridge, mean it’s lightning fast – a top speed of
31 knots will outpace most other yachts on the water, getting from
downtown Fort Lauderdale over to the Bahamas or down to the Keys
in no time and in total luxury.
There are four cabins, each with en suite facilities, including a full-
beam master suite complete with a cosy two-seat dining table. The
main saloon borrows its looks from a Manhattan apartment, with
low-slung furniture and full-height windows. Outside, there’s a
generous bathing platform that can be lowered and raised hydraulically
for easy access to the water, and a spacious foredeck for quiet
contemplation or an evening cocktail.
Chief among the attractions is the glorious top deck – the flybridge
itself. In many ways it mirrors the Sky Deck of the Conrad Fort
Lauderdale Beach – an open-air meeting place and vantage point on
which you can truly connect with the great outdoors and properly
escape your everyday environment.
Whether you’re staying at the Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach or on
board the Azimut 72 Flybridge, work will never feel so far away.
