There was no room for understatement when

Sanlorenzo announced its new hybrid yacht

collection, E Motion, at Boot Düsseldorf. “The electric

world is coming,” warned CEO Massimo Perotti.

Hype aside, there is plenty of substance to the

yard ’s new ofering. The first E Motion yacht to launch

will be a 27m Sanlorenzo SL86 (due in May) but the

yard plans to introduce this technology to its entire

collection, culminating in 2020 with the launch

of the Sanlorenzo 62 Steel E Motion. The recently

announced Sanlorenzo 44 Alloy will also be ofered in

an E Motion version that adds 11.4m² to the beach club,

while the Sanlorenzo E Motion yacht 500EXP is due

for a 2020 launch. While some remain sceptical about

the demand for hybrid superyachts, it seems this yard

Satisfaction looks certain

to leave her owner feeling

fulfilled. She is the first in the new SW105 mini-series from South African yard

Southern Wind and her purposeful profile was developed in collaboration with Nauta

Design and Farr Yacht Design. Satisfaction’s surprisingly spacious interior was

envisaged by Nauta, working to a brief for “house-like ergonomics” on board, which

can be seen in her four roomy cabins, offering accommodation for up to eight guests.

This carbon sloop was built to RINA Charter Class, so it seems the owner won’t be the
