fibre by JMV Industrie,

she was delivered in 2004

and refitted in 2017. She

in steel and aluminium by

PRINCESS PROTOTYPE BREAKS COVER

Some projects are just too exciting to stay

secret for long, as Princess Yachts found out

when images of its new prototype speedboat

were leaked online. There is excitement around

the Plymouth-based yard ’s design partnership

with BAR Technologies, an ofshoot of Sir Ben

Ainslie’s America’s Cup team. Multicoloured

dazzle camouflage inspired by warships was

used to hide the true shape of the yacht, which

is believed to measure about 10m. Princess

describes the project as an “entirely new class

of yacht”, and although those hoping for a foiling

speedboat may be disappointed, there is little

doubt that this carbon cruiser will ofer the

kind of sporty performance that would make

HOW

60ml Linton Hill Strawberry Gin

1 ½ teaspoons strawberry syrup

1 ½ teaspoons lemon juice

90ml soda water

A few pieces of fresh lemongrass

Edible flowers if available

Blend the strawberry gin and lemongrass for

two minutes then strain into an old fashioned glass.

Fill the glass with ice and add the strawberry

syrup, lemon juice and soda water.

Stir and garnish with lemongrass. For extra

flair, freeze a few edible flowers into ice cubes.

WHERE Franck first whipped up this rose-tinted

tipple on charter in Newport, Rhode Island.

WHY Hen party guests asked the stews to invent a

cocktail to match their pink colour theme. When

their boyfriends called and the ladies were worse

for wear, they’d say they were suffering with a fever.
