The seven-boat VOR fleet departed Auckland in March on Leg 7 of the 12-Leg race, bound for
Itajai in Brazil, some 7,600 miles across the fearsome Southern Ocean and around the brooding
Cape Horn. It’s considered the wildest, coldest, most miserable and dangerous leg of the race.
