Sydney's Marine Riley,
distributors of American-
made Pursuit Boats to
Australia, NZ and the Pacific,
tells us the Florida-USA yard
has produced an award-
winning design in the all-
new DC 365, the flagship of
the five-model dual console
range.
The Boating Writers
International judging team
voted the 37ft 11in DC 365
to be the most Innovative
product in the Center
Console/Walkaround Fishing
Boats category at the 2018
Miami International Boat

Show in January.
“We are very proud of
the engineering team we
have assembled for Pursuit
Boats and have refined a
new product development
process that accurately
reflects market demands,”
said Pursuit Boats president
Bruce Thompson at the
awards.
The DC 365 is a luxury
hardtop sportsfisher that
doubles as a stunning
entertainment platform
through innovative seating
arrangements in the cockpit
all the way through to

the bow where the boat
adopts the bowrider style of
wraparound plush lounge
seating.
A notable innovation of
the DC 365 is the transom
to stringer assembly. This
design transfers the loads
of the high-horsepower
Yamaha outboards used
for propulsion through the
entire hull structure instead
of just the transom.
Other features include
a large windshield with
walkthrough, wide pathways
from bow to stern and
plenty of large storage

compartments.
The cabin features solid
wood accents with modern
finishes, a full-berth forward
and a comfortable aft berth.
A small family or couple can
overnight with amenities
such as air-conditioning,
microwave and audio/visual
entertainment.
At the business end sit,
not one, two, but three of
Yamaha's F300 engines for
a total of 900hp from the
awesome 4.2lt V6s.

“We’re so confident in the
reliability of our outboard
engines, we’re extending
our warranty to six years.
Simple.” That was how
Nicholas Webb, Mercury’s
senior director of engine
products (Aus, NZ, Pacific)
summed up the company's
announcement of a new
extended six-year warranty
for all recreational
outboards.
That means all models

from the lightest 2.5hp
through to the powerful
50hp Verado outboards
are covered under the new
warranty.
In detail, by having a
Mercury engine serviced
at an authorised service
centre at the recommended
servicing intervals, owners
receive an additional
three-year factory-backed
warranty on top of the first
three years of coverage.

“That’s a full six years
of warranty coverage and,
importantly, it’s non-
declining. The coverage is
the same on the last day
as it is on the first,” said
Mercury.
The new warranty is
also fully transferable – it
goes with the engine. That
means if the outboard is
sold during the warranty
period, the second (or any
subsequent) owner also

gets to enjoy the peace
of mind of the six-year
factory-backed warranty.
Mercury’s new
‘3+3 = 6 year’ warranty
automatically applies for
new outboards purchased
in 2018, including the
Verado, FourStroke,
OptiMax and TwoStroke
series outboard engines.
