False alert sent on Ch70 (subsequent communications always voice,
on Chlfi).
False alert sent on 2187.5kHz (indicatingJ3E - meaning subsequent
communications by voice on 2182kHz; or indicating Telex - meaning
subsequent telex communications on 2174.5kHz).

    communications).
    The following examples explain how to act after sending a false

Author's explanation:
As your false alert was transmitted on Ch 70, any receiving vessel/Coast Station
would be listening on Ch 76 - and that is where you must send your cancellation
message. Having sent your cancellation message, wait on Ch 76 for a few minutes
to receive any late responses from stations that may not have received your voice
message. If nothing heard after 5 minutes of the alertlcancellation message being
transmitted, you can cease Ch 76 watch. Make sure that your DSC Controller does
not automatically repeat the Distress Alert, by resetting the equipment immediately
after the first false alert is transmitted.
