Author's explanation and calling procedures:
From the above entry we can see that:
(i) The station uses the call 'Castries Lighthouse ';
(ii) The station operates on Medium Frequency (MF), listeningfor calls on
2182kHz (the international MF Voice Distress, Safety and Galling
frequency); and has a number ofMFworkingfrequencies - allfor use with
your Marine SSB Radio;
(iii) The station also operates on VHF, using Gh16 as the calling channel
and with three working channels to choose from. Where a station lists MF
and VHF frequencies, you should attempt to contact the station on VHF
first (if in range) and, if that fails, go to 2182kHz and call there.
Initial calling procedure (on Ch16) would be:
'Castries Lighthouse this is Wizard, Wizard - callsign GWIZ - Over'
, Wizard this is Castries Lighthouse - Ch 14 and standby, Over.'
'Castries Lighthouse this is Wizard - Ch 14 and standing by
(Switch to Ch 14 and await the call from Gastries Lighthouse)

understand how to use ALRS Volume 6 - you should not use the
information in these examples in place of an up-ta-date ALRS, or
other source of corrected information for the ports listed.
