Author's explanation
When you initiate a call using Inmarsat-B (and also Inmarsat-M and Mini-M) the
NCS will receive your call request, including the 'default LES'. A working channel
will be established with your preferred LES, which will complete the connection to

the telephone number you require. If you want to make a call through a different

LES to that programmed as 'default LES', you can over-ride the 'default'selection
for individual calls. For example, with the Nera Saturn-B, selecting a different LES
to that programmed is achieved as shown below:
Example 2 - Call through Eik (Norway) - LES ID 04 (not your 'default
LES' - ID found in ALRS Vol. lIVol. 5 - or from your Operator's
Manual)
o Lift the handset.

o Receive Dial Tone!Observe 'DIAL OO+INTL TEL NO +#' on

handset display.
o Key 4*00442077281000#.
o Receive slow beeps whilst call is being set-up.
o Receive ringing tone when call is set-up - await answer - hang-up
when finished.
(Check the 'Operator's Manual' for your own equipment to establish
the procedure for over-riding the 'preferred' or 'default' LES setting,
for our own e ui ment)
