INSURING YOUR FUTURE

Tell us a bit about
your role at Chambers
Insurance and your
career to date.
Chambers Insurance is
a family-run business
and so I have been
involved in the company
from a young age. We
have two branches,
one in Kilkeel and the
other in Ballynahinch,
where I am office
manager. As well as
overseeing the running of the office, I specialise in commercial lines
of insurance, helping businesses secure the appropriate coverage for
their company. From shops and offices to restaurants and farms, we
work with a diverse range of businesses and help them find the right
policy for their individual circumstances taking into considerations such
aspects as liability and commercial lines.

How do you spend a typical day?
My day consists of talking to customers, sending emails and doing up
submissions for customers to get them the most competitive prices on
the market.

What would be your top tips for customers when it comes to choosing
an insurance company?
Choose a company that is a good standard rated insurer and has
longevity with a good claims handling experience. The old saying also
is true: “If something seems too good to be true it normally is.” My best
advice is always read the small print or go to a broker who will do that
for you.

What do you enjoy most about being based in Ballynahinch?
We are very central; if we want a good cup of coffee we can head
to Rhoda Stewart’s or Mauds. The people are also very friendly,
Ballynahinch is a large town but with a village feel about it.

What are your favourite hidden gems in Ballynahinch?
B+M Bargains or the Pound Shop are always worth a visit. Fashionistas
are catered for with shops like Isabella Paige, Magowans and Dress,
also, not forgetting the gentlemen who can find the latest styles at
Joseph Morrows. The kids are also catered for with Global Adventure
and Colours Paint Your Own Pottery Studio. On those occasions when
the sun makes an appearance, it is hard to beat the beautiful walks at
Montalto Estate which boasts wonderful trails and gardens.

Describe Ballynahinch in three words?
Friendly, accessible and bustling.
