Humphrey took up railway photography in time to capture the end of the LMS
streamliner era. This is No. 6242City of Glasgowat Shrewsbury before losing its
air-smoothed casing and bulbous nose in May 1947. Five years later, the Stanier
Pacific would be severely damaged in the Harrow & Wealdstone disaster.
Folkestone Warren is the scenic setting as‘Schools’class 4-4-0 No. 931King’s
Wimbledonleaves the town with a Dover-bound express in late Southern Railway
days.

Humphrey is not certain exactly where he captured this unidentified Great Western
0-6-0 and its antique payload, but recalls it being in the Church Stretton district.
Can any reader throw light on the reason for this working?
