01 We have not seen this image before. It is the
Le Mans inner cit y garage which Jaguar used each
time it raced there in the 1950s. The year is 1954
and the cars are XKC402 (#14) and XKC403 (#12),
with replacement C-Type XKC011 being hastily
prepared af ter the road crash en route of XKC012.
It would finish four th and D-Type #14 second.

racing debuts, while C-Type XKC011 is mostly
hidden as they are pushed onto the 1954 grid.

for drivers and spectators, but as Stirling Moss
drif ts through the Esses, Eric Thompson lies in
the path while he tries desperately to make his
massively damaged Aston Mar tin mobile and able
to return to the pits following a crash on lap 25! He
was third in 1952, and died aged 95 ...
