on has entered into a partnership with Nautor’s Swan to offer
Swan yacht owners advice on identifying the major risks to
which the iconic yachts are exposed, as well as insurance
solutions to mitigate and cover the risks identified as most
likely and most damaging.
Aon, a worldwide leader in risk and human resources consulting in
insurance and reinsurance intermediation, has strong expertise in the
recreational boating insurance market, with a dedicated division based
in Ancona, Italy.
Giovanni Pomati, CEO of Nautor’s Swan Group, said: “We are
pleased and proud to have among our partners the Aon Group, a
world leader in the provision of consulting services in the field of risk
management.
“This new collaboration was born to meet the needs and desires of
our owners offering, thanks to Aon, a highly qualified and diversified
service for the boats that are part of our three product lines: Maxi
Yachts, Swan Yachts and ClubSwan Yachts.”
Aon will offer an ad hoc consultancy service, analysing the
different risk scenarios according to the type of boat and its intended
use, and the relative insurance coverage for the best mitigation of the
risks identified.
Moreover, tailor-made advice is increasingly important, given the
growing number of unpredictable catastrophic events, such as natural
ones, resulting from adverse weather conditions. Aon will also provide
a 24-hour service to ship owners, 365 days a year, with the assistance
of specialised experts.
Andrea Parisi, CEO and General Manager of Aon in Italy, said:
“We are very proud to have partnered with Nautor’s Swan, a company
that has been at the forefront of sailing for over 50 years. Aon has long
been close to the nautical and sailing world. Preserving these ‘jewels

island of Mallorca to Genoa, Italy.
Yacht transporter Peters & May confirmed the successful
recovery by the appointed salvors MCS Marine Claim Services
GmBH. The award-winning yacht, valued at over €30m, was taken
to Palma and was in the possession and control of salvors and her
owners/insurers.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank the salvors for
their hard work,” read a statement from Peters & May. “This has
been a very delicate operation carried out in difficult conditions
and we are thankful for their efforts.”
Following the recovery, Peters & May stated that ‘it has
recently transpired during the investigations that the cradle
provided by the yacht owners had undergone an undisclosed
and apparently uncertified modification prior to shipment. This
modification appears to have resulted in the failure of the yacht’s
cradle’.
Owned by Pier Luigi Loro Piana, My Song was a frequent
visitor to superyacht regattas. Built by Baltic Yachts and
launched in 2016, she features a full carbon-fibre hull and has
accommodation for eight guests and six crew.
