Browse the web with Vivaldi for Android

t’s finally here!After years onyour desktop,Vivaldi has

arrived on Android.We’vefound the app provides an

impressive and speedy browserexperience that brings

many ofVivaldi’s bestfeaturestoyour phone, alongside

welcome Android-specific tricks.The

browser is currently in beta, so although

wedidn’t run into any problems,you should

watch outfor bugs andexpect newfeatures.

After opening the browser

for the first time, sign in or

createan accountby

tapping the V and selecting

Settings.Tap Sync and enter

your details,^1 includingyour

device name,^2 or choose

CreateAVivaldiAccount.^3

Doing so letsyou sync data

between desktop and phone.

After signing in,you’re

promptedtocreatean

EncryptionPassword,

which letsyou decrypt

yourexistingVivaldi data.

Tap Continuetobegin

synchronisation.Vivaldisyncs

allyour databydefault,^1

butyou cantoggle this option

offtochoose specific data,

such as bookmarks^2 and

passwords.^3 Tap StartSync^4

tobegin the process.

Like the desktop version,

Android’sVivaldi supports

Speed Dials.Add a siteby

tapping the plus sign, then enter

the name and URL.Tap the tick

tosaveit.Toremovea site,tap

the home screen’s panel button,

then press and hold a siteto
edit,^2 move^3 or delete it.^4

Vivaldi’s search-engine
nicknames havealsocome
toAndroid.Popular search
engines are assigned letters that
can be viewed bypressingV,
‘Search engine’.^1 Tapping a site
letsyou change its permissions.

very useful ‘Clone tab’.^1 Even

more spectacular is ‘Capture

page’.^2 Select this, then

choose Capture FullPage^3

or CaptureVisible Area^4 to

savea screenshot of the site.

Start writing notesby

tapping the panel button.

Swipe left twice or tap the Note

icon,^1 then tap thePencil.^2

After making a note,tap the tick

(^3) tosaveit or the trash can 4
todelete it.You can also
highlighttext on awebpage,
then select ‘Copytonote’.
