MOST BASKETBALL THREE-POINTERS
IN ONE MINUTE (SINGLE BALL)
The AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas, USA, hosted the
Harlem Globetrotters (from left, Thunder Law, Cheese
Chisholm, Big Easy Lofton, Ant Atkinson and Zeus McClurkin,
all USA) for a day of record-breaking basketball fun. Ant and
Cheese each hit 10 three-pointers in 60 sec using just one
ball, which had to be retrieved after every shot.
MOST DOUBLE-DUTCH-STYLE SKIPS IN 30 SECONDS
In “Double Dutch” skipping, two long ropes are turned in opposite directions for one or more
players to jump over. Ayumi Sakamaki (JPN) and the other members of the Double Dutch
team “Diana” performed an unprecedented 129 skips in half a minute in Toride, Ibaraki, Japan.
In order to count the skips and make sure that each one met the official guidelines, the
Guinness World Records adjudicators had to review the attempt in slow motion.
LARGEST LIGHT-BULB DISPLAY IN AN INDOOR VENUE
Constructed by Universal Studios Singapore in Resorts
World Sentosa, Singapore, this stunning wintery display
is made up of 824,961 individual light bulbs. It forms the
showpiece of the attraction’s Universal Journey – a
spectacular experience created for the Christmas season
that gives visitors the opportunity to visit eight themed
zones and encounter lookalikes of Charlie Chaplin and
Marilyn Monroe. The display took two months to construct.
HIGHEST BUNGEE DUNK
With the help of Experience Days, death-defying
dunker Simon Berry (both UK) dipped a biscuit
into a mug of tea from a height of 73.41 m (240 ft
10 in) at Bray Lake Watersports in Berkshire, UK.
Berry had to be incredibly precise with his jump,
as the guidelines for the record stated that the
mug used could measure no more than 15 cm
(6 in) in both height and diameter.

Farthest basketball
shot under one leg
Thunder Law (USA) of
the Harlem Globetrotters
(see box right) sank a
basket from a distance
of 15.98 m (52 ft 5 in)
at the AT&T Center in
San Antonio, Texas,
USA. Not content with one
record, Law also managed
the farthest basketball
shot made while sitting
- 17.91 m (58 ft 9 in).
Continuing his record
tussle with YouTube sports
entertainers Dude Perfect,
Globetrotter Big Easy
Lofton (USA) reclaimed
his record for the longest
blindfolded basketball
hook shot, notching up
an incredible distance of
17.74 m (58 ft 2 in). He also
took back the longest
basketball hook shot from
the no-doubt disappointed
Dudes, sinking from 22.1 m
(72 ft 6 in).
Fellow Globetrotter Zeus
McClurkin (USA) joined
the on-court fun with the
most basketball slam
dunks in one minute
(individual) – 16.
Longest duration to
juggle four basketballs
Marko Vermeer (NLD)
kept four basketballs in
the air for 5 min 26 sec
in Utrecht, Netherlands.
In order for the record
to stand, Vermeer could
only use juggling patterns
that switched the balls
continuously between
left and right hands.
