SHORTEST MARRIED COUPLE
Paulo Gabriel da Silva Barros and Katyucia Hoshino
(both BRA) measure a combined height of 181.41 cm (5 ft
11.42 in). Their heights were verified in Itapeva, São Paulo,
Brazil, on 3 Nov 2016. Paulo and Katyucia met on a social
media platform on 20 Dec 2008 and tied the knot on 17 Sep

LONGEST EYELASH
Shanghai-born You Jianxia (CHN) has a profusion of long
and luxurious eyelashes, the longest of which grows on her
left upper lid and measures 12.40 cm (4.88 in) in length. It
was measured in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, China, on
28 Jun 2016. This beat the previous longest eyelash, which
was found on the left upper lid of Gillian Criminisi (CAN) and
was measured at 8.07 cm (3.17 in) long on 13 May 2016.


HEAVIEST LIVING MAN
In Nov 2016, Juan Pedro Franco Salas (MEX) left his
bedroom for the first time in six years to be hospitalized
for life-saving treatment. On 18 Dec, he was weighed at
594.8 kg (1,311 lb 4.9 oz; 93 st 9 lb). Juan Pedro suffers
from morbid obesity, and by the age of six weighed the
same as the average adult man (63.5 kg; 140 lb). Doctors
diagnosed him with type-2 diabetes, thyroid dysfunction,
hypertension and liquid in his lungs. It is hoped that weight-
loss surgery will enable him to walk unaided once again.

1932) competed
at a professional
bodybuilding
competition at
Muscle Beach in
Venice, California,
USA, aged 83 years
6 days. He came fourth
among contestants
aged over 60. Jim has
been bodybuilding for
more than 40 years, and
says he feeds off the
inspiration of going
to the gym.
