It has fi ve engine choices

including shaftdrive and IPS

plus an optional hybrid system

or even a fully electric version

with twin Torqeedo I80

inboards and a pair of 40kwh BMW i3 batteries.

There are alot of options to pick from but this

boat can be as simple or complicated as you

wish. The twin shaftdrive one with 370hp

per side will do 25 knots, the hybrid one

with twin 14kwh electric motors

mounted inline with a pair of 220hp

diesels will do 16 knots (or 6 knots on

electric alone), while the most powerful

IPS600 option will crack 30 knots, and all come

with solar panels and a big domestic battery

bank negating the need for a noisy, smelly

generator when anchored in a quiet bay.

Though the standard layout has a full beam

master cabin amidships and a VIP cabin forward

both with spacious ensuites, you can also spec

a third cabin with bunk beds if required. The

other big win is a fl ybridge that extends across

the full width of the boat as well as all the way

illed as the world’s most

capable 56ft motor boat the

Dutch Craft 56 is certainly

full of original thinking.

Its vast open deck spaces

(including a low profi le

fl ybridge but not the usual enclosed main deck

saloon) can seat up to 36 people and options

include storage for everything from a mini

submarine to six Seabobs, eight SUPs, two

PWCs or even a 17ft tender.

Naturally it comes with a thumping

stereo system but you can also opt for a DJ

booth on the aft deck or a special davit

crane for lifting out game fi sh. In short,

it’s a massive open platform that can

be adapted for almost any need.

However, this doesn’t mean it isn’t

also a capable sea boat – its CE rated

category A for serious offshore passage-

making, and thanks to pair of IPS500 drives

it’s said to be good for 40 knots fl at out.

If exploring hidden reefs is more your thing

then optional John Deere commercial spec

engines on water jet drives will allow you to

creep into the shallowest of bays. Somehow

there is even room below decks for three

double cabins, two heads and a crew cabin.

Quite how well it all works in practice remains

to be seen but as a sister brand to the well

respected Zeelander range of superyacht chase

boats, its claims deserve to be taken seriously.
