TOTALLY
TROPICAL TASTE
Forget dull days and chilly nights,
throw some heat into your life (or your
kitchen at least) with the new collection
from Sara Miller London. Bursting with
tropical life, the new kitchen textiles
collection features toucans, parrots and
giraffes in surrounds of tropical foliage,
against backdrops of vibrant pink,
turquoise and navy.

Chinoiserie has its roots in the 17th century, when trade routes
opened up the Far East. It’s never really gone away, although
from the early 20th century it was found only in elite interior
design, rather than in any form of mass production. Today,
however, it’s making a bit of a comeback – and it’s rather lovely.
Forget the blue and white willow pattern plates of old, today’s
Chinoiserie is elegant, colourful and can be used as a theme or a
highlight, in any room in the home.

Trend alert
Soft

We make no apology
for our love of cushions.
They offer a quick and
easy way to refresh a
room scheme, mark
the changing of the
seasons and dip into
interior trends without
fear of overdoing it.
Imagine our excitement
therefore at the grand
reveal of the new
collection from Maison
Christian Lacroix for
Designers Guild. His
exuberant approach to
interior design isn’t for
everybody, but for us
his cushions allow for a
decent splash of quirky,
just perfect for battling
the dreary days of late
winter.
