W
hile Newport in South Wales may not be known
for its sunny weather, you can still feel all the
heat and get a good yoga boost at a new
family-run studio, Hot Yoga Health. The centre, a
former doctor’s surgery, opened its doors to the
public a year ago with its state-of-the-art heating system and is now
a popular hot yoga destination, helping and healing the communities
of the area that it serves.
Already inspired by hot yoga, founder Geoff Latham and his
daughters wanted to create an inclusive community space for yoga
lovers of all ages and abilities. And that’s evident when you walk in, as
you sense the studio’s friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
Located just a stone’s throw away from Newport’s train station, Hot
Yoga Health is also, in a sense, continuing the work undertaken of the
former GP’s premises – but in a natural, alternative fashion. Each week
you’ll find a wide range of classes, courses and workshops including hot
26, hot vinyasa flow, yin and hatha yoga, as well as family, pregnancy
and mother and baby yoga. There are also two treatment rooms where
a collective of holistic therapists offer reflexology, massage therapy,
homeopathy and counselling.
